About the orchard guardians.
Richard and Bryannie have owned the orchard for 8 years.
Before that they travelled the uk in a converted mini bus. Bryannie's studies include ecology, biodiversity and wildlife media. After she finished university she worked as a festival chef through the summer months and in the winter Travelled the world with a backpack. Rich was a qualified skiing instructor in Canada before jetting off to New Zealand and most of Asia. After meeting they traveled together through India, Nepal, Sumatra, Portugal, and Malaysia.
Before buying a bus and living on the road. They arrived at the orchard one sunny afternoon, mid harvest. They were simply in awe of the abundance of fruit, the space, the wilderness yet to be explored, and the endless possibilities before them.
Since that day they have worked themselves selves to insanity and back again so they could share this magical place with you.
living alongside nature out in all elements, taught them the skills to build everything from
Scratch by hand. From
Compost loos, to unique structures built from the earth, to their own charcoal they use what ever materials they can freely source. Old windows from the nursing home bryannie gardened for. Wood off cuts and decking from a building site rich was working on, rocks and boulders from a friends garden in mortimers forest. Piece by piece it slowly came to be. Then after giving birth to their daughter they converted their home inside the lorry into an air BnB.
While the baby slept the couple worked relentlessly to build their dream. Richards passion in permaculture, and Bryannie's flare for cooking her own homegrown vegetables combine beautifully. Together they continue to transform the orchard into a food forest to be shared with future generations. The site now has a large soft fruit garden. A vegetable patch , cut flowers in the old poly tunnel, they have planted hundreds of trees shrubs and plants . Started a wild flower meadow. As well as maintaining the orchard with its apples, plums, and pears. All of which are organic and unsprayed for 10years and we plan on keeping it that way too.

Our team have become experts from their experience on the land.

We are committed to sustainable farming practices.
We Never use any kind of fertilizers or pest control. We don’t believe nature can be a pest in its own habitat. Here we let the grass grow and the butterflies Fly free. Because we believe in protecting the environment and preserving it for future generations. our orchard has been free from any pesticides and chemicals for ten years, and we plan on keeping it that way!
